Admission Requirements

1. Pass in Pre-Degree exam of Kerala University / Higher Secondary (10 +2) examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Kerala or equivalent examination approved byKerala University of Health Sciences with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry Biology and English put together. (as per INC norms)

2. Age limit – applicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31st of December of the admission year. No upper age limit.

3. A Good character and conduct certificate.

4. A certificate to prove no physical or mental disabilities.

Government Quota – 25

Selection to Government quota is through the merit list published by ‘The Director, LBS, Centre for Science and Technology’ www.lbscentre.in/.

Management Quota – 25

Selection to management quota is through the merit list published by the Association of the Managements of Self – Financing Nursing Colleges of Kerala (AMCSFNCK) www.amcsfnck.com. For further details, refer the prospectus of AMCSFNCK.

Course Duration

Duration of the programme shall be four years. Internship Integrated practice is incorporated with respective practical hours in each year.

6 weeks vacation, including Public holidays(4 weeks), Year Break & Festival Holidays(2weeks) shall be given in each year.

Examination (including preparatory) = 2+2 weeks

Hours available per academic year (42weeks x 40 hours) = 1680 hours

M.Sc. Nursing

Master of Science in Nursing.

Two year post graduate nursing degree course.

Annual Intake (Male & Female) – 19 seats

Medical Surgical Nursing – 5 seats

Obstetric & Gynecological Nursing – 3 seats

Child Health (Pediatric) Nursing – 5 seats

Mental Health (Psychiatric) Nursing – 3 seats

Community Health Nursing – 3 seats


1. Successful completion of Four year B.Sc nursing degree course or two year post basic B.Sc Nursing Degree (Regular) conducted by Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS)or its equivalent regular programmes conducted by any other recognized universities.

2. One year experience in any recognized hospital or in recognized school of nursing or in a public health agency after registration as Nurse / Midwife. Or One year internship after successful completion of four year B.Sc nursing course conducted in the state (subject to approval by Indian Nursing Council)

3. Candidates with Post Basic B.Sc nursing (Regular) are eligible to apply for M.Sc Nursing directly.

4. Registration with Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council.
