In collaboration with Govt. Victoria hospital, pulse polio immunization programme was conducted on 17th, 18th and 19th January. A batch of 30 students of 4th year BSc nursing participated in the programme. An orientation class regarding pulse polio was arranged on 15/01/16 in our college auditorium. Dr. Roy ( Paediatrition , Dist. Hospital, Kollam) and Mrs Binuja ( health insector, Dist. Hospital, Kollam) took classes on origin, transmission and clinical features of the disease, polio immunization, its side effects and complications. The district level programme was inaugurated by Mayor. Advt. Rajendra Babu on 17th January. Students were posted in different booths. They participated in field immunization also.
Health education was conducted by school of nursing students in mundakkal centre regarding TB, immunization, mumps, measles and polio during their community posting .
Role play was conducted on 04.01.16 regarding TB by the IV year Bsc nursing students in velicham nagar . 40 people attended the programme
An awareness class was conducted on 14.01.16 by Sr. Omana in pallithottam health center regarding polio, 15 people attended the class.
BP Clinic, Geriatric clinic, adolescent clinic and antenatal clinics are being conducted regularly in mundakkal and pallithottam health centre.
