Community Health Nursing department and IV year B.Sc. Nursing students conducted an health awareness programme on “2019 Novel Coronavirus” at CHC Thrikkadavoor, Kollam on 05/02/2020.
Along with this an awareness class and health exhibition and role play were conducted at Govt. Victoria Hospital, Kollam by 2nd M.Sc. and IV B.Sc. Nursing students on 10/02/2020 to 14/02/2020. It was a week programme which included, health education about corona virus through power point presentation and videos regarding its causes, transmission, management, and prevention. The programme was very informative and daily 80-90 participants attended the programme.
A Mass Health Awareness session was conducted on 12.02.2020, Wednesday, in Pediatric Wards of Bishop Benziger Hospital, Kollam. This session comprises of health talk and role play based on corona virus infection, incidence, signs and symptoms, management, preventive measures, home remedies, demonstration session on hand washing technique and use of personal protective devices. This entire session was organized by a team of faculty members, III year B.Sc. Students and M.Sc. (N) Students. There were fifty participants in the Programme.
Department of mental health nursing organized corona awareness program at District Hospital, Kollam. The class was officially inaugurated by Mr. Praveen George (Nursing Tutor, MHN). Followed by sessions taken by third year students with the help of charts, posters, and pamphlets. After the session students donated soaps and towels in palliative, geriatric and burns wards at district hospital. The distribution of soaps and towels for patients officially done by Prof. Anand. S (Vice principal cum HOD Mental Health Nursing). Total 100 people attended the class.
